WARNING: BEWARE OF THESE PRACTICES
We booked a 24-day stay over Christmas and New Year through Expedia, opting to pay upon arrival. In preparation, we purchased flights, reserved airport parking, arranged taxis in Egypt, and secured Egyptian visas. We were eagerly anticipating our holiday.
However, just one week later, we received a message from Expedia stating that the hotel had canceled our booking due to "issues with the credit card." This excuse is completely unfounded—our credit card is valid and was successfully pre-authorized by Expedia at the time of booking.
Despite numerous attempts to contact both Expedia and the hotel, we received no response from either. This left us scrambling to find a new hotel at the last minute, or risk losing our non-refundable flight and other bookings.
This experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. We will never book through Expedia again and strongly urge others to think twice before trusting them with your travel plans. Don't let them ruin your holiday as they did ours!
