WARNING: BEWARE OF THESE PRACTICES We booked a 24-day stay over Christmas and New Year through Expedia, opting to pay upon arrival. In preparation, we purchased flights, reserved airport parking, arranged taxis in Egypt, and secured Egyptian visas. We were eagerly anticipating our holiday. However, just one week later, we received a message from Expedia stating that the hotel had canceled our booking due to "issues with the credit card." This excuse is completely unfounded—our credit card is valid and was successfully pre-authorized by Expedia at the time of booking. Despite numerous attempts to contact both Expedia and the hotel, we received no response from either. This left us scrambling to find a new hotel at the last minute, or risk losing our non-refundable flight and other bookings. This experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. We will never book through Expedia again and strongly urge others to think twice before trusting them with your travel plans. Don't let them ruin your holiday as they did ours!

Appalling company willing to use scam tactics. Please see the thousands of bad reviews on Trust Pilot Expedia advertised a flight price of £690 on Skyscanner - maintaining this price throughout the booking process right until payment. On this basis we booked accommodation - thinking we needed to finalise these dates before paying for the flight. Moments later when we came to pay for the flight Expedia increased the price by £200. The original price of £690 was still being advertised on Skyscanner (and was several hours later). I actually chose to pay more with another operator to buy the flight and will never use Expedia again. I'll also be sure to tell as many friends and work colleagues as possible.

Never use Expedia. I searched for a car to rent on Saturday for 2 weeks in the UK. When I showed up to pick up the car the rental agency was closed. I tried to call customer support and found it nearly impossible to speak with a human. I finally got through but they refused to reimburse me claiming that I made the reservation for the prior day! I then sent Expedia screen prints proving that I searched for a rental car for Saturday. It shows up in their search history on the Expedia app. Yet they still refused to reimburse me! Even though I can prove that I searched for a Saturday rental! They claim that I booked it for Friday! but can produce no proof. This is the second time they did this to me. I will never use them again. Because of Expedia, I paid for. A car which I do not have, I am out a large sum of money, I missed a very important engagement, and I am stranded in Oxford UK.

We booked all our hotels with Expedia on our latest trip to Southeast Asia and we were very happy with the hotels plus we even got some cash back. We will continue using them, they are really good!

Do not invest here. They are very quick to collect your money, but when it comes time to withdraw it, they stop answering your calls and emails and then eventually disappear. I lost about $37,455 to this company. Luckily, at first I got frustrated until I came across This Contact.mail address-( doris ashley 71 (AT) gmail. com) glad i saw testimonials on her good services so far. They also assist with fraud tracking operations and recovering lost funds and bitcoins. With their help, I managed to get my money back. For those who need help recovering their funds, I highly recommend them ..WhatsApp***(+) 1---( 717)---648---52---51

Customer service was horrendous, very contradicting individuals worst place i have ever experienced. But wouldnt even give a refund and one minute they could give us a room if we paid extra and the next they refused because they “had no room “ shouldn’t of said they could’ve give us one. They apparently didnt have a manger to complain too.

I am utterly appalled by the horrendous customer service I received from Expedia today. I wasted an entire Sunday trying to communicate with their team via Twitter, only to be met with what can only be described as sheer incompetence. It was, without a doubt, the worst customer service I have ever experienced from any company. Despite repeated attempts over five hours to connect with a human via phone calls and their entirely ineffectual website chat, my efforts were in vain. Furthermore, when I explicitly requested information on how to lodge a formal complaint via Twitter and Facebook, they flatly refused. After years of being a loyal customer, it's clear that Expedia's standards have plummeted dramatically. I can categorically say this will be my last encounter with them.

DON'T USE EXPEDIA - EVER We booked a hotel for 3 nights in Marrakesh over New Year. Two days before travelling I emailed the hotel re check in time and to try and organise a taxi from the airport. Turned out the hotel no longer partnered with Expedia, they were unaware of our booking (money had been paid in full and confirmation of booking, issued by Expedia had been received by us), and the hotel was fully booked. We contacted Expedia who 'booked us' into another Riad. On arrival at 10.30pm - on Saturday 30th Dec we arrived in a city we didn't know, at the door to the riad, down a blind ended unlit, dusty alleyway, and discovered the place was no longer in business (bear in mind that Expedia had 'booked' the place for us just two days earlier). It was clearly non-operational - electricity bills shoved into the gap between the door and the frame. It took us til gone midnight to find somewhere else to stay that night, and we spent the whole of the next day trailing round Marrakesh with our luggage trying to find somewhere to stay on New Years Eve night and New Years Day......as you can imagine Marrakesh was full. We eventually found somewhere but our family of three was squeezed into a small double room. But it was clean and we were safe. The two substitute hotels, predictably, stung us and we ended up spending twice as much for the three nights stays as we had already paid Expedia for the first hotel. It has taken a month of emails and hours of phone calls. Expedia have now reimbursed us for the first booking. They have today told us they will reimburse us for the extra cost of the hotels we ended up staying in (funds yet to materialise). They refuse to compensate us in any way for totally ruining our holiday. DONT USE EXPEDIA - EVER

am another Expedia victim. For 3 months, I have tried to contact them for support. Firstly, there is no email contact for Expedia. Secondly, there is no website to ask for a refund. Thirdly, the virtual assistant is useless. Fourthly, I just communicated with a human Assistant who asked a lot of details and then refused to help: 'Expedia Cherrymae (Agent) : Thank you for waiting, for any compensation in regards with the flight delay, Please contact directly with the Airline. Since they will be the one to assist you..... for the flight delayed you need to coordinate with the airline since they have a control of your ticket.. You mentioned above that Oman Air refused compensation for your first attempt. We don't have any option since they already refused for compensation.' I have Most appalling - I was given a link for help on the Expedia website where the online assistant asked for my credit card details plus a fee upfront before replying to my request. My issue: I have booked a long distance flight through Expedia and my flight was delayed by more than 5 hours. The airline, Oman Air, refused compensation. Thus, i asked Expedia for help. They just lost me as a long-standing customer. Seems I am not the only one

Booked a holiday via Expedia. The hotel then decided to close for maintenance 3 nights before our booking finished so we had to book another hotel nearby. Hotel stated that they would give us a refund for the cancelled days but as we booked via expedia we had to go through them. Expedia have now stated that are unable to refund us - effectively stealing our money.

Appalling company. Lied to us, told us to cancel holiday in order to get a refund and rebook, which we did based on their advice. Then they refused to give us a refund which meant we lost £1400. Disgraceful. Just a bunch of crooks pretending to help whilst being passed from pillar to post. Awaiting their response still.

I had to cancel my flight, was told I would be given a refund but after months of trying I never received a refund. Expedia is a scam and you only have to find the Expedia victims page on Facebook to read about thousands more people who have had similar experiences to me. Also, why can’t I leave a review in their one website ? And all my comments on their social media are blocked? Never use Expedia or any of its affiliated companies - always book direct!

I have used Expedia several times in the past and never had any problems. Yesterday, was a whole other matter! I'm absolutely appalled and shocked at the lies and deceit shown by customer services. I booked a hotel for Rhodes in 2 months time. Roughly 7 hours after the booking realised I'd made a mistake in booking the hotel. I contacted Expedia via online chat to request a cancellation and full refund. I understood that the booking was non refundable, but thought that as I had just made the booking the hotel would show goodwill and grant a refund. Which I'm glad to say they did without any argument, no thanks to Expedia. The initial response I got from Expedia was they had tried several times with hotel to request cancellation, saying that the property manager refused to grant a refund and they couldn't do anything else for me! Liars!! I contacted the hotel directly and got a response fairly quickly saying that yes, Expedia had contacted them about cancellation, but that the hotel needed this confirmed by email and NOT just over phone. There would be no issues with cancelling the booking and they would of course not charge me. Expedia lied to me and had expected me to just go away and suffer the loss of £900! Little did they know that I don't give up that easily! SHAME ON YOU EXPEDIA!!😡 I will not be booking with them again and suggest you think twice about using them. They may have been okay in the past, but now are a bunch of crooks! 😡😡😡

Just stay away from Expedia, or any other company that doesn't allow you to register a complaint. Expedia has made it impossible to register a complaint, so these review sites are your only option.

My husband and I booked flights on 3.8.23 for our Anniversary/2nd Honeymoon. The particular international flight we chose was listed as a Delta/Air France collaboration, which we specifically looked for. When our itinerary came to my email, it only said Delta with no mention of Air France. We were going to try to upgrade it for the celebration, on the Air France international flight. After three separate calls and an utterly futile 32+ minute chat to customer service (both on 3.10.23) left us with little hope we'll actually fly on what we booked on Expedia.com (Air France/Delta) nor does an upgrade seem possible (I asked the chat agent for a price three times & got no answer). I have used Expedia for over 20 years, but after how much stress this experience has CAUSED rather than prevented, this well may be the end for me. We are exasperated and heartbroken!

Very bad service, never using Expedia again. Cant make phone call only chat available. Agents not helpful at all. Booked the hotel for £213 but made bookings for wrong dates by mistake. Expedia is charging £245 pounds for changing dates. Lost all the money. Horrible service, horrible experience, never ever using expedia service will also recommend everyone not to use expedia ever... This is a looting company, once they receive money they are not helpful at all...

I booked a package holiday with these including, flights, transfers and hotel. This was at the beginning of 2020. Well then COVID happened. Transfers and hotel were free cancellation so no problems there got a refund. As for the flights, we knew a refund would take longer we said we would wait for a refund. Then they offered us a flight voucher and there was lots of news about travel companies struggling so we took a flight voucher. I called to check what this would be valid for, they said it would be valid for any flight on Expedia. Great We'll wait for COVID to calm down then book again. 2 years later we start to look at flights again and when I ring they say the credit can only be used with the exact airline we used last time. Right, so when we look at the flights for this at the same time of year the prices are now 3x times the price. I have tried over the last year to try and get Expedia to raise this with the airline and get me a refund. But because they are sat with my money they don't want to do anything. I have raised complaints and got nothing back, I have raised section 75s with my credit card, raised it with the aviation authority and no one wants to know. They have conned me out of my money and left me with a voucher that if I use I have to spend 3x the cost on the same flights we booked in 2020. When the voucher was explained to me it was explained it was for any flight on Expedia. Now they have gone back on that. Their telephone numbers charge you a fortune to call, you are on wait forever, live chat it useless and goes nowhere. I have lost all my flight money and had to give up because the stress they have caused has caused issues with my mental health. Avoid, avoid, avoid. It's a complete con with terrible service who will tell you anything to get you off the phone. Ewan McGregor might want to read customers experiences before voicing over for these *****.

Cancelled flights on a package holiday then refused to offer a full refund as required by law. Agents either deliberately ignored package rules or were completely ignorant of them.
