The guy on the desk at Kerikeri airport was very helpful & friendly & as we walked out to the parking area I was pleased to see a new rego bright coloured car waiting for us. The excitement didn’t last long - it was an old presumably ‘Japanese import’ bone shaker that barely made it up the many hills. Yes the car was clean & in good condition but very disappointing to drive & considering the cost of it at $60 per day (plus $30 per day to reduce our insurance excess from $2500 to $250 ) we were bitterly disappointed . We will certainly look around more next time we visit the Bay of Islands - there must be better deals than this!
