Before I left for NZ, I'd read that you should always use a local car rental company instead of the big international ones. Going to Northland, I found Far North Rentals and read the great reviews. I share the enthusiasm completely. So kind and helpful, the man in the airport, who provided me with the handy little Toyota I'd rented online. There was absolutely no fuss, and no hidded stuff in the paperwork, just kindness and trust. I recommend wholeheartedly.
