Placed an order, order was confirmed, payment taken. Had email telling me item had been shipped, then email from the courier last night and again this morning telling me when item would be delivered (today by 4pm) Waited for delivery, at around 3pm I have email and text message from Father and Sons telling me order cancelled (no stock) and they have refunded me (this is after order confirmation on wednesday, shipping confirmation yesterday and delivery confirmation this morning!!). No refund in my account. Utterly incompetent and I don’t see how it’s possible for it to get to the stage of the courier confirming delivery - someone had to have known before now that this item did not exist, no doubt it will be blamed on a ‘system error’ but who was responsible for preparing the item and shipping it, and then confirming they had shipped it?! For someone to not have noticed by this stage just does not seem plausible. The person processing the order and then whoever was packaging the shipment must have known there wasn’t an item to be packaged, so why wasn’t this flagged up then? Instead they keep my money for three days and only inform me the item is out of stock an hour before the supposed delivery is due to take place. Its only a couple of days until Christmas and I’m not in the position to buy another gift without this refund. So my son is going to wake up Christmas morning with no gift. I’m heartbroken and angry in equal measure. No contact phone number, only email and auto response saying they will try to respond within 48 hours ‘but’ it’s Christmas, so I don’t hold out much hope in hearing from them or getting my refund before Christmas. Even if they do refund, no doubt my bank will hold the refund for 3 working days before releasing it for me to use, which seems to be the case with refunds. However, had this issue been brought to attention right away then I could have chosen a different item from Father and Sons or at least there would have been time to refund me and for me to have that money back and available to spend before Christmas. A shame as I’ve shopped with them a couple of times before and have been happy with the orders but this has been appalling and incompetent every step of the way. I will update if or when I hear from them and if or when I get my money back.
