The item purchased is fine and a reasonable price bearing in mind that it is not one of Garmin's current models. My problem has been with the delivery process. Originally told that the item would be delivered Monday 21st I was pleased to receive a text and tracking information on Sunday morning for a Sunday delivery. A full day was spent waiting in for this and I was astounded to see on the tracker that delivery had been attempted at 2.44 despite that we were looking out for this. I suspect that no such attempt was made. A second day, Monday 21st, was wasted also waiting for a delivery that did not happen. I tried to contact customer service yesterday as it was really difficult to get information about where my parcel was. Today I had to give up a third day out walking to wait in for yet a another day and mid afternoon the item was delivered. I queried the courier about Sundays experience and he was philosophical / dismissive about it. I got the feeling that Sundays courier might have just not bothered! So, touch wood, Field & Trek supplied a decent product but the delivery process was well under standard and I wasted two full days waiting. I suggest that the text service could provide a window for the delivery time and useful information provided in the tracking. I am nopt sure that Hermes provides the right service for domestic customers. Might I add that Field & Trek has always been a trusted brand for me and I have been a customer since the late 70's making many bulk purchases for my job in outdoor education. I am not sure what to think now.
