First Tutors does what it advertises: matches students with teachers, and charges a reasonable one-time "finder's fee" in order to get the tutor's information, with all future interactions & payments going directly between the tutor and the student. It's equivalent to what would happen if you found a private teacher through word of mouth, and very good compared to websites that charge you a middleman fee for every interaction you wish to have with a teacher. I am very happy with the tutor I chose based on the information provided on the First Tutors website. I felt that the information was accurate and not misleading, another rarity in the world of online services. Also, when I contacted the First Tutors customer service for help, they emailed me back within an hour and helped me resolve my issue. Overall, I'm quite satisfied.
