First Tutors provides a wide range of tutors with very detailed descriptions of their strengths and experiences, which enables you to perfectly match a tutor with your student’s needs. All tutors are easily contactable, and promptly answer any question or query, meaning that you are able to make a very informed decision when selecting the perfect tutor. I was initially concerned about paying the £29.99 finders fee, as this has to be paid before any tuition takes place (and before any tuition fees have been paid). As at this stage there is no way of knowing if the tutor you have selected will meet your needs, and there is no guarantee that the partnership is going to work, and therefore it feels like a bit of an expensive gamble. Although I’m pleased that we took that gamble, as the tutor that we selected is perfect for our daughter, I still think that the finders fee is a little high, and a £10-£15 charge would have been more acceptable - hence the ‘Good’ rating, rather than ‘Very Good’.
