On 3 April 2024, I bought a ticket from Flightcatchers for a Turkish Airlines flight. The ticket they sent me clearly states that the baggage allowance is 30kg. Immediately after purchasing the ticket, Flightcatchers called me, urging me to buy an additional baggage allowance, which I declined. Relying on the ticket confirmation from Flightcatchers, I packed my baggage to weigh 29kg, assuming I was within the allowance for one suitcase. However, when I checked in at the airport on 15 April 2024, Turkish Airlines staff informed me that the actual baggage allowance for my ticket was for two suitcases, each weighing up to 23kg. It became apparent that Flightcatchers had attempted to sell me a service I was already entitled to. Due to having all my kg in one suitcase and lacking a second suitcase to redistribute the extra weight, I incurred a £64 charge for overweight baggage. This situation arose from a deliberate misrepresentation by Flightcatchers to extract additional money from me for something I was already entitled to. Despite emailing my complaint to Flightcatchers on the same day and demanding an immediate reimbursement, I only received an automatic response stating I should receive a response within 24 hours. It has been 42 hours, and I have not heard back from them. I have informed them that if I don't get confirmation of my reimbursement today, I will escalate my complaint to the regulatory authority. Companies with such fraudulent behaviour should not be permitted to operate. Flightcatchers' reply to my complaint was to use gaslighting tactics rather than taking responsibility for their fraudulent misrepresentation of my baggage allowance as "30kg per adult" under the guise of a "promotional" brand. They dared to claim that Turkish Airlines had changed their baggage policy and even suggested that the 30kg mentioned in the ticket they sent me was meant for two pieces rather than one and that I should have clarified that with them! Utterly preposterous. Their attempt to imply that my allowance was merely 15kg per suitcase is nothing short of nonsense. It's important to highlight that Flightcatchers is Polani Travel Ltd., a company with the lowest Trustpilot rating I have ever encountered.
