The issue that I have experienced was: I originally booked China Southern Airlines from London Heathrow to Ho Chi Minh City via Guangzhou for four passengers using Flightcatchers.
The original date of travel was Tuesday 6th May 2025 at 22.10. However, I got a notification that the date of the flight from London Heathrow to Guangzhou was changed to 24 hours earlier to Monday 5th May at 22.10.
However, the connecting flight from Guangzhou to Ho Chi Minh was not changed meaning we had to wait 24 hours in the airport or change the flight. The original connecting flight was CZ367 due to depart Guangzhou for Ho Chi Minh on Wednesday 7th May 2025 at 20.15. Due to the change in schedule we had to move the connecting flight to Tuesday 7th May 2025 at 20.15.
I contacted Flightcatchers and was charged additional admin fees of £23 per person. I had booked for four passengers taking it to a total of £92 pounds. I expressed displeasure in having to pay this admin fee but he said it was the fault of the airline and as the agent they had no control in the matter. He said I would have to contact China Southern Airlines to claim back this fee.
I have since contacted China Southern but they have responded with the following.
We would like to clarify that China Southern Airlines authorized all affected travel agents to process non-voluntary changes or refunds without any airline-imposed fees when we made the schedule change on 6 March. After investigating your case, we can confirm that no fees were charged by our airline for this transaction.
I am now in a situation where China Southern are blaming Flight Catchers and visa versa leaving me out of £92 for an issue which was not my fault.
As a result, I raised a complaint with Flightcatchers for the £92 to be refunded but have been ignored - this was over 2 weeks ago. Very poor customer service and looking to take advantage of customers by charging more where possible.
