I am very happy with this flooring. I am a 65-year-old grandma and I installed it myself on a 14' x 24' basement floor. I've never installed any kind of flooring before this. I had very little trouble other than in places where I had to scoot a piece under a door casing and try to get it to click in. I started out making all my cuts with a circular saw which was very easy but very messy and noisy. I ended up just scoring and snapping the crosscuts with a utility knife but for the long cuts, I used the circular saw. There were a few pieces where it seemed that the texture was so deep that the finish didn't fill it adequately and therefore looks like a blemish and doesn't have the same low gloss as the rest of the piece. It looks like a scratched area. There weren't that many pieces like this and I was able to put some in corners where it wouldn't be noticed. Also, the surface feels powdery. After I noticed it I cleaned the floor but I was worried that my cat might have picked up whatever the powdery substance was on her feet. Is the aluminum oxide wear layer toxic? Just today, I installed the baseboards and was surprised at how un-flat the floor was. I didn't notice it when installing the flooring. So I'm thankful that the flooring was flexible enough to handle it. The image I am including shows that I still need to add the transition trim around the concrete area in front of the stove which due to the safety code needs to be free of flooring. I may decide to tile that space.
