Yes they have terrible customer care, Yes the director of Freedom Brokers has also another failed Insurance Company tied to them in the past.
If you pull up there details at Companies House (I suggest you take a read yourself) you'll see that they owe money out to a lending company (2 years later) and that there profits are low.
No one seems to know what they are doing there, it is really poorly ran.
This is because the customer service is terrible, they have no clue how to run an Insurance brokerage company and it WILL go the same way as the last business they ran.
If you've not paid them yet for a policy then your lucky! move on and find a better business.
If you have paid then I would suggest contacting them to cancel the policy so you can get a part refund and find another provider that will be around longer than 12 months.
