I bought a ‘Misfit’ Kombucha scoby starter kit for my first attempt to make Kombucha, so didn’t know what to expect. I followed the instructions carefully and the resulting drink was lovely. Adding ginger as recommended was delicious. I was concerned that the scoby seemed very fragile and disintegrated slightly, but on making an enquiry to Freshly Fermented, has a prompt response to explain that this is just yeast strains and a normal part of the process, so nothing to worry about.
