I ordered the starter as I was concerned somehow despite comments to the contrary on the Web ie that starters go on indefinitely; my existing starter which I used successfully for a few years had stopped being as effective and my loaves were not rising as well as they did. I followed the instructions to the letter and my loaves are now back to being well risen. I was surprised by the use of plain flour to maintain the starter but it seems to work!!
