New hobbies are a bit of a pandemic cliché but my wife bought me a San Francisco sourdough starter for Christmas from Freshly Fermented and I haven’t looked back. I followed the instructions and, to my utter astonishment, am now making loaf after loaf of the tastiest bread I’ve ever had. Once you get the concept, it’s tough to get it wrong, and watching my starters thrive is an oddly satisfying and addictive experience. I cannot recommend it highly enough
