Due to COVID19, our local vets only take emergencies. We needed medication for a skin condition (mites) for our rabbit and the vet recommended a product. We found Fruugo seeking that product. Our web display in the US said Fruugo was based in Austin, TX. Fruugo also said there are merchants around the globe and the one nearest to us would take our order. We knew up front the product was from the UK but the wording on Fruugo web pages implied the merchant was in the US. Turns out the merchant was in the UK and sent the medicine the slowest way possible. While waiting more than 2 weeks for it to arrive the rabbit's condition degraded to an emergency, at risk of death. Rabbit is now in care at the vet fighting for its life. Medicine by no means should ever be shipped any way other than express (3 day) where it is offered. I registered a complaint with Fruugo who were being sorry for me all over the place, but basically delivered the message, "Blame someone else, please, we just run a drop-ship service." So I presume Fruugo will allow anyone to sell anything and they will always blame the merchant. Including illegal merchandise. Fruugo needs to have merchants sign on to ethical, responsible service or face not getting paid. Fruugo needs to hold the customers' payment until the product is delivered in correct order, legally, and there are no serious issues with it. Then and only then should Fruugo release money to the merchant. Fruugo should also clearly ask at checkout for preferred shipping method, what that cost will be, and the expected time to delivery (Customs obviously excepted). But Fruugo doesn't care. They just want their take of the money and otherwise wash their hands of the customer and merchant once they have it.
