Seemed ok until you want to claim. House burgled car keys stolen and therefore the car. After protecting no ncd for years and not needing it typically this year I didn’t. This I’m told makes it a fault claim even though the car was stolen. I had 17 years no claims but they are dropping me down to 3 years that’s a 14 year loss. Budget say they don’t recognise anything more than 9 years but even if you agree with this that’s a loss of 6 yrs when the Industry standard is 2 years. Also Budget would not cover anything inside the car unless I could prove it was in the car when stolen. Unless I photo the inside of my car every night how can I do that ? The “current value” payout for the theft will not cover purchasing an equivalent vehicle, and it’s cost more than £100 to switch the car stated on the insurance so the insurance is not worth it. Customer service have taken a month of me phoning and email to pay out, saying they will act but they don’t until I ring again then pass it on to someone else. They say I can complain but “nothing will change so you might as well close the case”. So much for customer service. Budget do not treat customers fairly.
