Premium is cheap, but you get what you pay for. Service is really poor.
COMMUNICATION: Impossible to get through on the 'phone without waiting at least 15 minutes. And it is extremely difficult to find an email address (contact@dialdirect.co.uk). When using the email to correct an error on a renewal quote, the revised package came back with the same error. The Live Chat is awful. It picks up a word from the question a User has entered and replays a series of possible responses related to that word, none of which had even a remote link to my question. It is NOT "Live". It is an automated "robot".
SERVICE: The service was so bad, I gave up trying to make a claim that was just a little more than my excess. Whilst the underwriters (Markerstudy) are a separate company, from a customer's perspective Dial Direct are responsible for administering all motor insurance issues. The underwriters were even more difficult to contact than Dial Direct (several 20 minute waits on the 'phone before I gave up). When I finally gave up and emailed Dial Direct to give up my claim, Markerstudy still called me 2 weeks later, apparently unaware I had given up the claim.
RECOMMENDATIONS: As there is only me and my partner on the policy and hence a low probability of having to make a claim next hear, I have gambled on Dial Direct for another year as the premium is cheap. If there were a few family members on the policy with a much higher chance of having to make a claim, the service is so poor I would definitely find another insurer.
