Terrible that my car insurance doubled without my consent. I have been sick, so unable to receive emails. Next thing I know my bank account indicates that my car insurance cost has doubled. I phone up, no manager to talk to , told I could go ahead and cancel anyway and not pay and argue it out with the finance team. I didn't think that would put me in a good legal footing so I'm waiting for a call back on Monday. I am not going pay for cancelling a policy i did not agree to. Automatic renewal of insurance for customers who are sick is not moral, in fact automatic renewal is stealing with the justification of 'we did email you, it says in the clause of your policy.' No one spoke to me, I did not consent. Insurance companies should be held accountable for making rules that suit their pockets but not their clients. It's white collar theft.
