I rang over two weeks ago to explain that the auto- renewal process for my car insurance appeared to have misfired, renewing the policy in October 2022 when I had already taken out insurance with another company. The telephone operator explained that they could not deal with this (!) but that the appropriate department would contact me in a few days. It would appear the message was not transmitted accurately as the only thing that happened was that I received an email actioning my request to cancel the policy with effect from 16th October 2023. I rang the number suggested on the mail , again the operative was unable to deal with issue, simply requesting me to mail a different department., who would respond at the earliest in 3 to 5 days.
