Cancelled within 24 hours of purchase and still got charged a penalty and they TRIED charging us more, which would have been against the Trade Practices Act. Had to battle against them for that and they did back down, but very unclear that any costs would be incurred because we informed them within the 'cooling off period' and HAD been told that we could cancel the policy within that time. Even with the cancellation penalty, we saved hundreds getting insurance elsewhere.
