After paying my premium I was informed by email that I had failed to disclose relevant information. This turned out to be the destruction of my classic car as the result of an arson attack two years ago.
I pointed out that I was the victim of a crime and that I had no reason to associate this event with renewing my motorcycle insurance. My interlocutor was polite and sympathetic but still demanded an 'administrative' payment.
I felt that this retrospective demand was unethical; the company could have discussed their problem with me before the deal was closed.
