AVOID THIS COMPANY. As below I had a renewal quite which I didn't want to take up. Called the number given to cancel, and was told they'd send me a text message to reply to which would cancel my renewal. Did so, only to be greeted with a message saying they were charging me £4.99. Called immediately to say I would not be paying them 5 quid for them not to renew my policy when I have explicitly told them I don't want them to. After some lengthy to and fro they finally reneged when I threatened to refer them to the regulator for illegal practice. Was assured they'd not auto-renew my policy and would "waive" their illegal charge. Two weeks later lo and behold they've gone ahead and charged me the full renewal price. Now have a fight on my hands to get that back no doubt. This company is a disgraceful consumer scam. Please, everyone, go elsewhere for your breakdown cover. Having used and cancelled the big 3 in the past I have never had any of these issues with them.
