I informed RAC van insurance that I wanted to cancel my policy with them as I have taken a new policy out with a different company, ( it had 1 month to run until renewal and I have made no claims). I was told that there is a cancellation fee of £75 from them (RAC) plus a cancellation fee of £25 from Aviva as well £100 total fee to have a moth less insurance cover???. When I told them to just leave it to run out was then told that I was Illegal to have it insured with two companies. This is totally untrue!!! I pointed out that it is illegal to double claim for the same thing, yes, but it is not true that it is illegal to hold insurance with two companies. I was informed that they would cancel the insurance from now and make the bill up and send it to me. This is totally outrageous and I consider their actions as illegal!!! I will never have anything to do with the RAC again and urge caution with any dealings with RAC van insurance they are not to be trusted.
