We were advised by the RAC insurance staff in the customer service that an accident was found to have incurred by us on the 4th of July 2017, she told us that accident should be recorded on our present record. We told her that accident had happened due to a car crashed on my rear bumper and caused my car moved to crash on the rear bumper of the car in front of us. We strongly denied liability of the above accident and we have got a written letter from our previous insurer that we have got 5 year unprotected no claim discount. We also write to show our anger about RAC is asking for extraordinary and extra document proof including: -DVLA code check -4 pages V5 registration document - utility bill showing our address other than asking for proof of the 5 year no claim discount and copy of our driving licenses. We have paid our premium in one go already, so what is the purpose of this check? We have lived in this country for 21 years and have never experienced similar incident like this. I consider this is unacceptable and unreasonable. I have provided the letter issued by Direct Line as proof of my five year no claim discount. I will be moving to another insurer as from the 1st of February, 2022. Because of the unfair treatment I have experienced, I have decided to post this review to the public to record my unpleasant experience with RAC Insurance. The great pity is that they used to be so good but recently they have become such a pain to deal with. Xinquan Ou/Freda Ou
