Avoid Getaround at all costs – shocking customer service and no accountability.
We booked a car for a family trip through Getaround and were delayed by just 7 minutes beyond their 30-minute pick-up window due to a flight. Despite messaging the owner immediately, we were met with rudeness and a flat refusal to hand over the car or offer any flexibility. We were left stranded at the airport with three young children.
Getaround initially promised a full refund, then reversed their decision 11 days later, citing technicalities — ignoring the fact that the service was never provided. All further attempts to contact them have been ignored.
We’re now left out of pocket, with no car and no support. It’s a disgraceful way to treat paying customers. Steer well clear.
