We would have been happier if they could have provided an optician to supply the prescription. We are of an age where we feel uncomfortable having a prescription done and then not ordering glasses. It also means we have to travel somewhere to have our eyes tested. Finally if there are problems with the new spectacles there would be only one point of contact - are the glasses wrong or is it the prescription?
We are old and therefore have a different view to younger customers but you did ask.
