We had a wonderful time on the self guided tour in Taiwan in April 2019. Everything worked and the e-bikes allowed us to manage the route well, which we could not have done on ordinary bikes at our age (late 60s). Grasshopper staff gave us a lovely welcome and kept in touch, which helped us to feel very safe. We enjoyed cycling through small villages and food growing areas, off the tourist trail. We were lucky to encounter a festival in one village, where people from a Taipei temple were visiting. We were welcomed into the celebration. We stayed in a variety of accommodation, always friendly and helpful. The Grasshopper notes on places to eat were good and our lack of language skills were not a barrier to getting a tasty meal.
