Lost over £100 for booking a car, booking said bring a valid credit card in the name of the driver, we did. Turned out they do not accept Amex, and can't take a payment on debit card, but they can charge you double for the car rental if you still want the car you booked.
Naturally we didn't agree to that and ended up paying cancellation fees, which was still only a third of what they were looking to charge. I will not be booking with them again.
