Not 100% what I was thinking, BUT! IT IS VERY COMFORTABLE AND HOLDS IT ORIGINAL SHAPE. I am a large frame guy (38 -40) and I am happy with the based functionality of the belts. Some pants I have trouble with the tongue going behind the buckle. So over it goes and still HOLDS well.
