The belt material is very durable and the buckle/tightening system is simple in principle but I still have to get used to it. What I find annoying is that in order to tighten the belt to the degree I want I end up sort of wrestling with the belt system and then have to retuck in the excess belt material through the loop under the belt. Not a deal killer but annoying.
