I ordered a premium buckle (forged crimson carbon fiber) with thinner (Element) strap. Have used it once. It is pretty difficult to cinch tightly. I thought the 1.5 inch width would look ok but its a bit bulky with golf shorts. The narrow 1" size would be too small. Was concerned that the forged aspect of buckle meant it had some steel in it. Nope; magnet does not stick to it. It will be good when traversing TSA checkpoints.
