I love the buckle, love the fabric of the belt, but I followed the directions for measuring and the belt is so very, very long. I ordered two different sizes and both are not the right length for the person wearing them. Might want to revise your measurement directions! I'm thinking you might want to order your waist size plus 2 inches, not the size 8 pants = 38 inch belt! It will go around her half again!
