I don't give 5 stars unless I'm completely blown away by a product or it's company so, in this case, both were worthy of a solid 4. If the belt came in at better price point, I would be more inclined to rate it better but in all reality, its a 1 or 2 dollar piece of aluminum with a $.50 strap and maybe $6.00 worth of labor and $3.00 shipping for almost $40.00. I knew it going in and I'm just here to make sure I ain't the only one. That said, it seems pretty solid and has held its black anodized color after about a month and a half of almost daily use. It does, however, require a learning curve to assimilate to the way it works and I don't recommend waiting until you're "at the event horizon" to familiarize yourself with its "unbuckle" procedure. Especially if the game isn't being played on the home field! Results may vary but, you've been warned.
I have also kept an eye on how much it has distorted around back where the middle belt loop usually instigates a "V" in an otherwise "I" piece of leather and I'm happy to report minimal deformation. There's still a little but I'm thinking that .125" steel would be the only alternative to that slight problem so, the belt gets a thumbs up from me for its performance in that regard. And it won't rust like steel surely would, either.
Overall; decent belt that would undoubtedly move many more units at a less insulting price point.
