I bought a Groupon for a haircut and style. I went to merchant, got the service, pulled up the Groupon code and hit "redeem". It marked the code redeemed and the merchant could not longer use the code so I had to pay her separately. I contacted Groupon immediately and explained - they even have a "help" category for this issue so obviously I'm not the only one who has made this mistake. The agent saud they woukd get back to me in a few days. I got a reply they woukd only issue me Groupon "bucks" since it was past 3 days when I bought the Groupon (it was 6 days and obviously this is a problem on their part with redeeming their coupons). They refuse to refund my purchase to my debit card, they have never issued the Groupon "bucks" and i had to pay the merchant separately.
