Wife took her mini for MOT and it failed on a "spongey" brake peddle so rear brakes were replaced then whilst this was being done a further fault on the ABS hydraulic pump was supposedly found costing over 2k to rectify in the meantime no driving as brake failure was imminent.
I took her car to another MOT test centre who thoroughly checked the braking system and guess what no ABS hydraulic fault was found, the car passed MOT.
Please be very wary of Halfords and take a second opinion as in this case we saved over 2k on a fault which clearly was not evident when checked independently.
