Despite the advice of a couple of other traffic-specific solicitor firms, that I should just take a conviction for not informing the police of the identity of a driver on the chin, caused by the incident occurring at the time I was moving house and some apparently mis-delivered post, Mr Trotter advised that he could probably have the conviction rescinded by negotiating with the CPS, which he successfully did in court, the magistrates agreeing to quash both the failure to disclose and the original speeding offence, which cancelled 6 points that had been added to my licence and a £1500 fine. The representation was not cheap, but I can definitely say that it was very good value. It is particularly important to note that this form of dialogue with the CPS is not open to private individuals, so Mr Trotter's experience and intervention was immensely valuable.
