LOCKED OUT ACCESS TO OF MY PENSION, ISA'S and CASH AFTER 23.5 YRS - FOR NO REASON After 23.5 years of trading with Hargreaves Lansdown, first trading in June 2000, I find on 15 February 2024 that my account has been FROZEN. Apparently it has taken them 6 days to inform me of that in a rather rude and accusatory e-mail. Why did such a catastrophic event take SIX days?? I can no longer access or withdraw from my account any of the many, many tens of thousands of pounds - in excess of over £150k - for no apparent reason. BE WARNED: Anybody thinking of trusting or trading with Hargreaves Lansdown should consider how they would manage, if locked out of money which is rightfully theirs - on what appears to be a whim. Shame on you Hargreaves Lansdown. It doesn't appear as if I am the only one with such a recent experience, as anybody can see for themselves. Do not trade through them. They no longer can be trusted and have no credibility. I used to accept their charges were higher than many - but I had bought into them functioning efficiently and effectively. Well, that is no longer the case. TRUST THEM AT YOUR PERIL. I have done nothing that changes my personal details, in decades. I live in the same property I have owned since October 1990- that'll be 33.5 years. I bank with the same banks with the same home address details I have for much longer than than 33.5 years. The following organisations all accept I am the man who has resided at my current address for that length of time HMRC, DWP, Paypal, Caxton FX, Computershare, Equiniti, iWeb, Coventry Building Society, RCI Bank, Natwest Bank, Natwest Credit Card, John Lewis Finance, There are many others. IT IS ONLY HARGREAVES LANSDOWN THAT HAVE NOW DECLARED THAT MY ACCOUNT IS FROZEN. That seems very, very odd and all the more so, ironically, on the very day that I received a written communication, at my home address from HMRC, providing me with my new tax code - sent to the very same home address that HMRC has accepted I have lived at for 33.5 years. Seems I am still the same person, residing at that address to which the postman has delivered that HMRC notification. Please don't leave a limp message on here Hargreaves Lansdown that I should talk to the 'Help' team. I have - and true to form they didn't live up to their title. Their is no 'Help'. You cannot even inform inform your client, (soon to be ex-client) as to what the problem would appear to be. That's very 'Helpful', isn't it? I have already put in an Official complaint, which will set the balling rolling to go to the Financial Ombudsman. I have also put in a Subject Access Request for ALL the data held on me by Hargreaves Lansdown and any subsidiary organisations to which they might outsource work, such as HooYu and Experian, and others if appropriate, under the Right of Access to information, legislation. They are now legally obligated to provide me with printed copies of ALL those records held pertaining to me by name and evidence of the address. Anybody experiencing similar problems - and there appear to be many - should do the same. If Hargreaves Lansdown cannot explain what the problem appears to be, make them provide the evidence of the data held pertaining to you. That will flush them out into the open. I have already alerted a couple of friends to whom I have been talking and recommending Hargreaves Lansdown Asset Management. They have been alerted and will NOT fall into the trap that has now locked a pensioner that relies on his SIPP in drawdown to meet his monthly commitments - including paying his very expensive heating and energy bills. Shame on you Hargreaves Lansdown. Hargreaves Lansdown you should hang your heads in shame. I will be seeking financial redress for your inappropriate actions and locking me out of access to in excess of well over £150,000 of funds which is rightfully mine. Be warned. DO NOT TRADE WITH HARGREAVES LANSDOWN Asset Management. They cannot be trusted. You will live to regret such actions. I do.
