I love both the support from Harrier Trail Running and the Exmoor jacket I bought. Although new to trails and ultras I have a fair experience bank of long-distance road events and fancied a new (possibly more collegiate) challenge. The advice and transparency I found on the Harrier website were fantastic and it was clear that the products they sell have been developed with trail/ultra running needs in mind. Simple things like the videos explaining why features had been included or design updates I found inspired confidence in the brand and helped me to decide to purchase the Exmoor jacket. Delivery was fast and all the items I ordered came in one recyclable package. Things I particularly like about the Exmoor jacket are the texture of the fabrics (both inside and out), the gusseted hem around the bottom that hugs onto you and stops the jacket from flapping and its versatility. As you'll see in Harrier's video about the Exmoor, it has loads of great features including four lined and zipped pockets, vents, and two zips to let you access your pack if the Exmoor is worn over it (I have done this and found it worked well) however, you can also wear a pack over the Exmoor when the grips on the shoulders help lock your pack in place. I also liked the 'wear it round your waist' option that to me shows the Exmoor has been designed by users and so I felt that, at £90, this is a great value. I only really have one gripe about the Exmoor and that is according to the sizing guide that Harrier provides I should wear a small. This is what I bought but I find it a little tight in the shoulders, short in the arms and the peak on the hood too small to be effective. I think my suggestion/conclusion is that the fit of the Exmoor jacket (or at least the small) is small and so if you are at the top of the size guide for a size, buy one size up. I'm glad to see Harrier will be at the national running show and am looking forward to visiting their stand and will definitely try the medium and see if that is a better fit. All that being said, I feel Harrier has really thought about the features they have included in their products and will definitely be considering them again when buying new kit.
