Uber's software quoted me a price (not a range) to go from Los Angeles International Airport to my home. The price was very reasonable. I was so thrilled with the driver that I added a 25% tip to the original price. Ninety minutes after I got home, I got an email from Uber that they added over $50 to the trip but did not cite a reason why. I complained to Uber and they told me there was a misunderstanding. There was no misunderstanding. Quoting one price before service and charging a different price following service (where the buyer is a captive audience) is fraud.
