I’ve been a loyal Uber customer for years with a 4.9 rider rating, and as a disabled American woman, I’ve relied heavily on this service to help me navigate a world not built with people like me in mind. Unfortunately, my recent experiences with Uber’s customer service have been increasingly disappointing.
It’s become clear that the company is no longer invested in supporting long-term customers, especially those of us with accessibility needs. I’ve felt dismissed, unsupported, and like just another number in a billion-dollar business. As someone who already faces daily challenges, this lack of care makes an even bigger impact.
I’m a human being, and I deserve to be treated like one. I hope Uber takes real steps to improve how they support disabled riders, but in the meantime, I’ll be exploring alternatives like @Lyft in hopes of finding a more respectful and responsive experience.
Do better, Uber.
