I started driving for Uber only because I lost my job and needed to make ends meet. But honestly, this experience has been nothing short of draining and dehumanizing.
Most weekends, I’ve had to deal with rude and abusive passengers—people shouting, slamming doors, or treating me like I’m less than human. At times, I genuinely felt unsafe, especially during late hours. And what’s worse? Uber does nothing to support drivers in these situations. It’s all about the customer, no matter how they behave.
The pay is nowhere near worth the stress. After fuel, maintenance, and taxes, you’re barely left with anything. Uber takes a huge cut while drivers take on all the risk. It feels like modern-day slavery masked under “flexibility.”
There’s no respect, no real protection, and no future in this. If you’re thinking of driving for Uber, think twice—your time, health, and dignity are worth more.
