Outrageous scam and zero customer support
I specifically requested a standard taxi via the Uber app for £17. During the ride, the amount was refunded back to my card, and once the trip ended, I was suddenly charged £37 – more than double the original fare. No warning, no explanation, nothing.
This is completely unacceptable and feels like a scam.
What’s worse:
• The in-app Help always says “support not available at the moment”.
• The phone number is no longer active.
• Email to monitored.
There is absolutely no way to speak to a real person, and no way to get help when something goes wrong.
If I don’t receive a full refund immediately, I will report this to the relevant consumer protection authorities. Uber should be held accountable for this kind of behavior.
