David arrived promptly, well dressed and tidy. Listened to everything I told him and he showed empathy.
The test began with a thorough medical history, he wrote notes as he went along but looked at me when he was speaking so I could lip read.
The actual test was thorough. He took a long time, it wasn’t rushed at all. There were extra tests, relevant to my case, not performed in a hospital hearing test. The one where you had to repeat what a woman was saying when there was considerable background chatter, as if you were in a cafe/restaurant. I found this quite distressing as I couldn’t hear her at all. David was sympathetic.
The results of the test- David told me my results. I knew the best of it already. I would have liked to have seen them in the graph format rather than just be told.
Hearing aids - David demonstrated a pair which are an improved and smarter model than the NHS ones. They felt good etc, but I was expecting a pair that didn’t have a piece behind the ear. However I discovered that the ones with the behind the ear piece were the most expensive. I wasn’t shown any other, however David is returning at a later date to discuss hearing aids and prices.
