It was easy to use and the speaking voice was clear. It was good that you could choose the speed of delivery, or turn off the voice altogether, although the type face was a bit pale and in part very small and therefore difficult to read without constantly enlarging it.
BUT
How much learning did I actually do? Just enough to pass the test (which of course was the aim, and was achieved) but what should I really be learning? How long will I remember it and make sure I do it? It was dreadfully boring and I could have left half of it out. I did find out a few surprising facts.
I feel there could be far more interesting resources. Little videos of pests in action, photos of their eggs and droppings, that sort of thing. When you do the hand washing bit send the student off to wash their hands. Get them to put on gloves and wash their hands with the gloves on. Tell them to go to the fridge or freezer and see what temperature setting it is on. In other words make it into active learning. Use IT to greater effect - a short video of a (pretend) kitchen in use where the student has to spot 6 malpractices. Make it fun and memorable.
You could save lives if your students really learn effectively. I have no idea what lupin flour is. Crustacean is a difficult word - show some pictures of a variety of crustaceans, which, guessing I assume includes lobsters, crabs, shrimps - is it anything which lives in the sea with a hard skin? What about things like squid??
A bit of role play or video of waiters having discussions with customers about allergens wouldn’t come amiss.
It would have helped me to have more quiz questions as you go along.
But summarising my comments: to make it into real long term learning including changing mindsets to make your learners feel it is really , morally, important to know and follow the guidelines make it more INTERACTIVE, more fun, more exciting, use IT potential to the full.
I have written this straight away. Not expecting a delivery only receipt of the certificate
