Appledore is always a premium, but on this occasion it was not met with quality. I knew the cottage would be small, but it’s very tiny. I was alone and it was ok for one person, it is really not great for a max of 4. You can only sit two on the sofa and there is one small chair, the sofa also needs a very good clean.
The TV is tiny and the dining table is uncomfortable for two and impossible for 4 as one half of the extended wing is broken, even on extension it would fill the small living room/diner.
Kitchen equipment is sparse and there is really no space to store much food..
The cupboard door with a magnet closing for the washer sticks to the washing machine on opening leaving an exposed screw - not ideal with small children.
Upstairs main bedroom is fine, I did find the bed quite hard - but that’s a personal preference. The second room with bunk beds has a cable tie for a door handle, the plug socket is cracked showing exposed wires - again really not good if children’s are sleeping in that room.
The decking which is accessed from the second bedroom is sweet but desperately needs a clean as it’s very slippery.
The shower room also has pink mould and needs a good scrub.
It’s a great location, but I feel ripped off for the lack of quality and cleanliness.
I hope the feedback reaches the right people to either lower the price or make the much needed improvements.
