The cottage near Slimbridge was not as we expected, to some extent. It was quaint as described but did have its good and bad points. The garden looked as though it could be a good space, but it was very messy and the gardener was no where to be seen all week. Next door by the parking space, there was a few bags of garden rubbish and it was generally a messy area. The interior of the house was very quirky and we thought some of the space was well laid out. The rug under the table was threadbare and had seen better days. In the kitchen we had to clean some utensils and pots before we could use them. The 2 small frying pans were dirty and one still had old oil in it, also a couple of pans were rusty. Obviously the previous occupants didn’t bother to clean the pans, and the cleaning team didn’t do their job either. They were cleaner when we left. The whole place was could have done with a good dust. The bed was a little soft , didn’t spoil our sleep. On the good side the heating and water temperature was easily controlled. The Smart TV was good and easy to use. We used the washer and the Dishwasher both easy to use. A Gas hob was a godsend I can’t stand using electric hobs. The rainfall shower was great. On the whole we enjoyed our stay and easy to use as a base for travelling around. Just a few niggly points spoilt it.
