Avoid for your own safety and peace of mind
I used HolidayGems for our family holiday to Egypt in early 2025 with my family (me, my wife, 3 young children and my elderly mother-in-law). The travel Voucher provided states that someone would meet us in the arrivals hall displaying our name to transfer to our hotel. However on arrival no one was at the airport. This was 11pm local time so the airport was fairly empty. I called the contact number on the travel voucher to reach someone at HolidayGems but they were able to help and said another team will get back to me the next day. I exaplined to them this was not much help and we were left stranded in a foreign country at close to midnight. I had no option but to pay £30 for a taxi to my hotel. A more reputable company would have provided more support and made sure we safely arrived safely at our hotel.
What upsets me most is HolidayGems has refused to accept responsibility. They initially blamed the transfer company and offered only £12 reimbursement. When I challenged this they told me it's my fault for using the contact number on the transfer voucher to contact them directly and I instead should have used a different contact number for the transfer company which was inconveniently located on another page in the travel voucher. It should be noted that the travel agent I spoke to at the time was unable to provide the contact details or help me locate them on the travel voucher.
