We have just arrived back from a wonderful trip to Majorca. This has been our first holiday in 5 years and our first to Spain / Majorca. We were hesitant booking everything through one source but took a gamble. From the very first decision to to the flights, to the hotel, to the transfers everything worked out brilliantly. The instruction that were sent for all the different parts of the trip worked out fabulously. The transfer Taxi arrived to the minute. The hotel was lovely (I have just emailled them something we never do), we have had a lovely break. From both of us Thankyou, keep up the hard work and remember there are humans wanting a lovely holiday on the other end of an Internet order.. Well done

Good morning. I would like to complain about our recent experience travelling with one of your ‘carefully selected’ transfer providers Hoppa. We arrived at hughada airport to our driver who did not appear to know where it was he was taking us? We then walked to his a car. A car that can only be described as a nail. Inside a approx 7” screen playing music videos. We were stopped at every security check because in his words his car was ‘unique’. We were then taken without our knowledge or any discussion to a back street fuelling station. Now, we’ve not been to Egypt before, this is a country with different laws and ethics and we were concerned about our safety. Why not re fuel before pick up. He then drove at speed, whilst using his phone for most of the journey. The roads in places are of poor standard and I did not feel safe. This was proven when despite my husband seeing an obstruction in the road our driver who’s hazard awareness appeared lacking, emergency braked and swerved around a motorcyclist trying to retrieve his bike from the road and we came to an abrupt stop. He got out see what had happened. We’re now on a highway in the middle of nowhere. We were physically unhurt. Mentally very distressed, just keen to get to our hotel. Our driver was apologetic. He drove a little more steady for the remainder of the trip. That night once in our hotel room I sobbed my heart out. My husband and I discussed the need to get our wills sorted it was that much of a shock to us. We were furious. We felt we could not report our experience after the drop off because our driver had told us his ‘friend’ was doing our pick up and we were fearful we would not get picked up or have a worse journey on the way back. The anxiety for our pick up was building on the days leading up to our departure. We did consider using the hotel shuttle but weren’t sure if we were jumping out of the fire pit in to the fire. The driver arrived as scheduled, slightly better looking car from the outside. He did not speak to us but asked the security guards if we were going to hughada airport, which we replied yes and then he asked them to also ask us which one? The new or old airport? How do we know and why doesn’t he know? This is a scheduled transfer booked in advance. I get in the car anxious about our previous experience to find that the rear drivers side passenger belt mechanism doesn’t work and the central belt mechanism is missing. So I spent the 2 hour drive holding on to the seatbelt that was not secured just praying we did not have a repeat of the inward journey. We again made an unscheduled stop at a back street filling station. Not the big ones on the main highway. Clearly one used for locals and the like. We did not feel safe. Visibility is poor on these dusty roads, low and behold a ‘police’ truck coming from a side road pulled out on us in the main highway bearing in mind we’re travelling at speeds of 110kph and our driver had to slam on the brakes. I had no seatbelt. If we had hit anything I would almost certainly be dead. He also took phone calls whilst driving having to have both hands of the wheel to change gear. I am a paramedic my husband a police officer so please take our concerns seriously we know all too well the dangers of poor safety in cars. I am still very tearful and traumatised writing this email and re living out experience, that I will never use holiday gems again nor will I travel to Egypt

went on holiday with you in october. the flight and hotel, very good. transfer bad. had to wait 20 minuets for transfer to resort. for return, didn't show up. transfer was for 6 20pm. contacted them and they said they were there 3 20 for pick up. asked to come back and pick me up, they said i had to pay. so fed up i got a taxi back to the airport. cost 20 dollars. i cannot give you proof of the charge because they do not give receipts. i'm going away with you to sharm on 17th this month. transfer better be good. if not may not book with you again. not happy.

I'm 43 and love a Holiday, i booked Saturday wee 4 days all-inclusive through holiday gems they took the money from my account only to receive a message the next morning saying to contact them. So I did I was told that that hotel has over booked now anyone normal knows if it's fully booked why would they be advertising in selling it 😕 I spent over 20 minutes on the line with this male and he was pretending to cancel it when in fact he hasnt the authority to even do that I then received a further phone call today a woman this time that told me him yesterday hasn't the authority to do it so she says she is doing it now takes 72 for money 2 be returned I never thought I'd say this about holiday gems but believe me this is a scam to get more money off people u can't sell something that's already been sold he tried telling me what I can and can't do I told him I work in the airport where I live Im pretty sure I can do what I like

The price online was amended after booking and after some negotiations was honoured by their customer service. Overnight the full amount was told to be due rather than the 1 month as advised in the confirmation received. This led to a decision to cancel and lose the deposit only to be told that nearly £600 was due as a fee for cancelling. Yes this was in the t&c but these had been agreed without reading sadly. There is no cooling off or recourse with this type of operation sadly so after some consideration it was decided to pay the amount to close the matter. At no time did they appear to offer any conciliation or any negotiation. Whilst fully understanding that I am responsible wholly to read t&c and have no excuse I think that this company can be described at least as disingenuous and quite happy to hide behind their rules.

Not aware I was booking with Holiday Gems as the original site was Love Holidays. After booking received a very confusing telephone call stating price had gone up! Booked transfers - HG said I had not. Paid £150 for transfers via taxi myself. Sent many emails for a financial breakdown of what I actually paid for. Still waiting for a response after company emailed me back saying they cannot supply one. Resort not as described in online brochure. Really bad company! Taking up the matter with my credit card company.

Avoid for your own safety and peace of mind I used HolidayGems for our family holiday to Egypt in early 2025 with my family (me, my wife, 3 young children and my elderly mother-in-law). The travel Voucher provided states that someone would meet us in the arrivals hall displaying our name to transfer to our hotel. However on arrival no one was at the airport. This was 11pm local time so the airport was fairly empty. I called the contact number on the travel voucher to reach someone at HolidayGems but they were able to help and said another team will get back to me the next day. I exaplined to them this was not much help and we were left stranded in a foreign country at close to midnight. I had no option but to pay £30 for a taxi to my hotel. A more reputable company would have provided more support and made sure we safely arrived safely at our hotel. What upsets me most is HolidayGems has refused to accept responsibility. They initially blamed the transfer company and offered only £12 reimbursement. When I challenged this they told me it's my fault for using the contact number on the transfer voucher to contact them directly and I instead should have used a different contact number for the transfer company which was inconveniently located on another page in the travel voucher. It should be noted that the travel agent I spoke to at the time was unable to provide the contact details or help me locate them on the travel voucher.

Choose holiday gems due to competitive pricing however after booking the holiday online and paying in full, a few days later my partner received a call from them saying the price had gone up and asking for a further payment! They then took a further payment from MY car with my boyfriends permission! Surely that's not legal!

Found identical holiday cheaper than any other company.sam from Holidays Gems rang us to confirm details And was really helpful and great fun. The only negative was the price increased by £52 from the on-line price but was still £70 cheaper than anyone else.

Don’t book with this company we’ve tried to cancel our holiday and they are very obstructed and are refusing to refund it bearing in mind with have followed their instructions and procedures shocking customer service £854 out of pocket…now I’m contacting my credit card provider and atol.

I booked through holiday gems, flight was delayed. Was told it was the airlines responsibility I would need to speak with them. My return transfer didn't show. Contact the number given told the driver was sent wrong email and had been and gone, get a taxi and claim the money back. Suprise suprise I was told no record of call and when I gave the number from the email was told I rang the wrong number, still have not received refund. Would never book with them again.
