Terrible customer service. Cowboys. Spent £3,500 on a premium table, yet was treated like muck. First off, arranging to get the table delivered was a serious pain. The sales people were not clear about instructions, and told me delivery dates which weren't fulfilled because they didn't communicate properly. Then there's the problems with the product itself (Signature McQueen dining/pool table) - The balls kept getting stuck in the ball return system. Took them a couple of months to sort out. Really terrible design – the service guys had to patch up the holes that the balls were getting stuck in. - Didn't deliver all the cues, then tried to make out like it was somehow my fault and initially refused to send the missing cues out to me. - HLD forgot to send out any chalk with the cues, meaning I couldn't play pool properly for 3 days while awaiting delivery of the chalks. - The wooden triangle they provided was wayyy too big for the balls, meaning the balls were hardly touching when you break. They argued this point with me, despite being an obvious fault. Unbelievable. - The dot on the balls end has come off, meaning I have to guess where it used to be. The top end dot also looks like it's about to fall off. - They still charged me £150 to lift the frame upstairs in my apartment block – which took them 5 minutes to do! The rest of the actual heavy stuff got taken up in the lift. Felt pretty ripped off, given all the awful customer service. - Had to chase WLD constantly for updates on where the table was, when it was being delivered, if they'd received payment, where the missing items were. - Asked them to call me back on several occasions and was ignored. Even when I got the manager involved and the 'customer service' person. Now, I do have to say I am happy with the table itself, now that the service guys have come out to re-balance and fix the ball return system. It's a beautiful table. The guys who came out to deliver were nice, and the initial salesman Tom was nice enough too. But everything in the middle – the actual customer service, was laughable. My friends and family couldn't believe how much I'd spent on the table, yet somehow was given some of the worst service I've ever known. It became a bit of a joke. Sadly, not one that's very funny when the table you've bought is worth more than your car! ** WOULD I RECOMMEND HOME LEISURE DIRECT? ** Hell no. I feel ripped off and humiliated. A note to HLD owner: If you treat all your customers like I have been treated, I don't know how your business is still running. Your staff could have fixed the issues by calling me, apologising and making sure I wasn't ignored. You can call me to discuss if you want.
